OUR SUSTAINABILITY PROMISE

Any business, no matter how big or small, should actively be working on ways to reduce the impact they have on our environment. That's why we've come up with our promise to ensure the decisions we make are also sustainable ones. Check out the methods we are using to reduce our carbon footprint below.

Recycling Contact Lenses

Recycling Contact Lenses

We recycle your used contact lenses and the packaging that they come in. We've teamed up with Johnson and Johnson and their ACUVUE® Contact Lens Recycle Programme. to recycle these materials that would usually end up in landfill. If you are a contact lens user then just simply bag up the used lenses, the foil and the plastic case that they come in and drop them off in store for us to recycle.

You don't have to be a customer with us to recycle your contact lenses, just bring them in and we'll do the rest.

Recycling Old Spectacles.

Recycling Old Spectacles.

We have been recyling old spectacles for a long time and continued to do so through the pandemic. We send them off to a charity who will either re-use the glasses, or sell the scrap metal and use the money gained to give to charity.

As with contact lenses, you can bring anyones old spectacles in to use and we'll gladly recycle them.

Recycling Used Demo Lenses

Recycling Used Demo Lenses

One really poor side of the optical industry is the waste from demo lenses. They are typically used to keep plastic frames in shape and to aid with the measurement of spectacle lenses. Traditionally these plastic lenses would be thrown into the bin but they are now sent to an artist and upcycler in Bristol who turns them into new spectacle frames. Amazing!

ECO Eyewear

ECO Eyewear

We use ECO to supply us with these fantastic frames. They use sustainably sourced plastics and recycled metal to make their frames and every frame we sell they then plant a tree to offset it.

These frames have been super popular in store and even come with these amazing sun clips.
